Leads from ads, comments and campaigns

Send the people your ads, posts and WhatsApp campaigns bring to the right pipeline, and decide when they appear on the board

Path: Communication > Leads → pipeline selector → Pipeline settings → More options

How leads enter a pipeline explains the general rules. This page covers the three sources that have their own settings.

Leads from ads

Two separate settings work together.

Where ad leads go — the Ads category of Which new contacts come here:

  • Any ad sends the contacts of every ad here, including ads you create later. Only one pipeline can have it; a second one is refused with a message naming the first.
  • Or pick specific ads from the list. You can search by name, headline or ad id. An ad appears in the list only after someone has written to you from it; before that, use Can't find it? Type the ad id. Up to 50 ads per pipeline.
  • A pipeline that lists a contact's specific ad wins over the pipeline with Any ad, when both have the same Which pipeline goes first number.
  • Only an Administrator sees the list of ads.

When ad leads appear — Contacts from ads → Add everyone who writes from an ad:

  • Off (default). A person who writes from an ad is added once they show buying interest, usually moments later. Routine questions stay off your board.
  • On. Everyone who writes from an ad is added as soon as they write. Turn it on for the pipeline your ads feed if every ad contact is a lead for you.

A click on the ad with no message adds nobody. A contact who came from an ad shows Came from an ad in their Messages profile.

On your main pipeline the Ads category is not shown, because it already receives whatever no other pipeline takes; the Add everyone who writes from an ad switch is still there.

Leads from comments

Contacts from comments → Add everyone who comments on your posts is off by default. Turned on, a person whose comment the bot replied to is added to this pipeline's entry stage right away, on Facebook and Instagram. Comments your auto-reply rules do not answer add nobody.

With it off, a commenter is added later only if they message you and show buying interest.

On Facebook, a person who comments and later writes on Messenger appears as two separate contacts. On Instagram they are one contact.

Leads from a WhatsApp campaign

In Mass sending, a campaign has the option Add recipients to a pipeline. Choose a pipeline, or leave Don't add to a pipeline.

  • When a recipient's message is accepted for sending, that person is placed on the entry stage of the chosen pipeline.
  • Only people who are not on any pipeline yet, and were never declined, are placed. People already on a pipeline are not moved.
  • This works for the campaign's pipeline even if that pipeline has no rules under Which new contacts come here.

To write to people who are already leads, use Send message on a stage column. See Pipeline stages.
