WhatsApp Campaign Daily Limits, Pauses and Stops

Why a campaign takes several days, and why it can pause by itself

Path: Communication > Mass sending > Campaigns

This page is part of WhatsApp Campaigns. It applies to campaigns and to sequences.

How many messages go out per day

Campaigns are sent little by little, not all at once.

  • Your business limit: up to 250 messages every 24 hours by default, counting all your campaigns, sequences and WhatsApp numbers together. Your limit is the number shown in Up to N messages a day on the Campaigns tab.
  • Meta's limit for each number: shown as Limit tier in the same place. For example, TIER_250 means 250 in 24 hours and TIER_1K means 1,000. A number Meta has not reported a tier for is treated as 250.

Each number sends up to the lower of the two. Both count the last 24 hours, not the calendar day.

When the limit is reached, a campaign that is Sending shows Daily limit reached and when sending continues. Sending over several days is normal for large campaigns. Example: 900 recipients with a limit of 250 take four days.

You do not need to keep the page open; sending continues on its own.

Pause, resume or stop

  • Pause (while Sending): sending stops and the people still in the queue wait.
  • Resume (while Paused): the checks are run again and, if they pass, sending continues where it left off.
  • Stop (while Scheduled, Sending or Paused): ends the campaign for good. Queued people won't get the message and it cannot be resumed.

Why did my campaign pause by itself?

ReadyChatAI pauses campaigns to protect your number. The reason is shown on the campaign. After fixing it, press Resume; a campaign never resumes on its own.
