Real Estate Mode
Real Estate mode switches your entire dashboard into a listings business: Products become Properties, checkout and orders turn off, and your assistant follows compliance rules built for real-estate conversations instead of general sales ones.
Turning it on
Path: AI Configuration > Configure > Business Info > Business Type
Every account can see and click the Business Type dropdown, but switching from Standard to Real Estate only takes effect for accounts ReadyChatAI has enabled for it. It can also switch on automatically if your business category was set to Real Estate during onboarding and your account was already enabled. If your account isn't enabled yet, choosing Real Estate reverts to Standard and shows an error — contact ReadyChatAI support to get enrolled.
What changes in the dashboard
| Standard mode | Real Estate mode |
|---|---|
| Products | Properties |
| Categories | Transaction Types |
| Deleted Products | Deleted Properties |
| Checkout Questions | Inquiry Questions |
| "Commerce & Services" sidebar section | "Real Estate" |
Orders and Service Management disappear from the sidebar entirely — their pages still exist, they're just not linked from the menu anymore. On the Properties list, the Web Scraping and Import Files tabs and the Import button disappear, and the stock/quantity column is replaced with a read-only Market Status column.
No checkout, no orders
Activating Real Estate mode turns off checkout automatically. Even if checkout is somehow re-enabled afterward, your assistant still refuses to start, continue, or confirm any order for a real-estate business, and it cancels any order it finds already in progress mid-conversation — redirecting the customer to a person instead.
Property fields
Activating Real Estate mode adds a set of listing fields to every property: Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Area (with a per-listing unit toggle), Property Type, Address, Listing Type, Year Built, Lot Size, HOA Fee, HOA Includes, Parking, Pet Policy, Deposit, Availability Date, Virtual Tour Link, Waterfront, View, Furnished, MLS Number, and Flood Zone.
All of them are optional, but leaving one blank has a cost: when a customer's search asks for something a listing has no value for, the assistant won't confirm that listing as a match — it will only offer it as a possible match and say plainly which detail is missing. Filling in the fields customers actually filter by (beds, baths, area, price, location) is what lets the assistant confirm a match outright instead of hedging.
Area and Lot Size units
Area is stored with a unit. Type a plain number with no unit and ReadyChatAI guesses one from your business's country — square feet in the US, UK, Canada, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Pakistan, and Bangladesh; square metres everywhere else — but you can override the unit per listing. Getting this wrong on a listing matters: search filters compare Area in square metres internally, so an unlabeled value read in the wrong unit makes a property look far bigger or smaller than it really is. Lot Size is free text — you write the unit yourself (for example, "0.42 acres" or "6,500 sq ft"); it isn't part of any search filter.
Market Status vs. Listing Status
Every property has two separate switches, and it's easy to mix them up:
- Listing Status — Active or Off-Market, the same on/off switch every product has, relabeled for real estate.
- Market Status — Available, Pending, Under Contract, or Sold.
Setting Market Status to Pending, Under Contract, or Sold stops the assistant from offering that property or booking a showing for it, but it will still truthfully tell a customer who asks that the property exists and has sold. Switching Listing Status to Off-Market instead makes the property fully invisible — the assistant acts as if it never existed, even if a customer names it directly. To record a sale, change the Market Status; don't switch the Listing Status to Off-Market.
Showings
You don't need to build a booking flow yourself. Every listing automatically gets its own bookable Showing service, plus one shared Listing Consultation service for general inquiries — both inherit your business hours the moment they're created. If your business hours aren't set yet when a listing is created, that showing has no bookable time slots until you set them.
Open a property's page to find its Showings section: the shareable booking link, its current weekly schedule, and a link to edit that schedule. Renaming a listing keeps its showing service's name in sync automatically — but if you rename or deactivate a showing service yourself, that edit is respected and won't be overwritten.
What the assistant won't do
On a real-estate business, the assistant follows rules a regular business doesn't: it never states or implies that a price is negotiable, never estimates or produces a valuation, and never gives financing, mortgage, legal, or tax advice. If a customer makes an offer, tries to negotiate, raises a financing, legal, or tax question, asks for a valuation, or raises an issue with a deal already in progress, the assistant stops answering and hands the conversation to a person instead.
The same rules apply to automatic replies on your social media post comments, with one more restriction: the assistant can't check availability or book a showing from a public comment, so it never discusses availability, negotiation, financing, legal, valuation, or an in-progress deal in public. Instead, it invites the commenter to send a direct message, where it collects their name and contact details so someone on your team can follow up.
Price on Request
A property's form has a Price on Request checkbox. Checking it clears the price rather than saving it as $0 — the assistant is told to say the price is available on request instead of quoting a number or a blank. A listing saved with a literal $0 price, for example from an old import, is treated the same way automatically, since no property is actually worth zero.
Switching back to Standard
Switching back is safe and reversible. Your listings, their field values, past appointments, and the auto-created showing services are all kept, not deleted — the showing services and the Listing Consultation service are simply switched off. Turning Real Estate mode back on restores everything: the same listings reappear, their showing services reactivate, and checkout turns off again.
