Core details
| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Business Name | Yes | The name customers know; maximum 100 characters |
| Business Email Address | Yes | A valid address for the business |
| Anything About My Business | No | A useful description of what you do; maximum 8,000 characters |
| Contact Number | Yes | Country code and a valid phone number |
| Business Website | No | A complete, valid website address |
Write the description as customer-ready facts. Products, prices, services, and detailed answers are easier to keep current in their dedicated sections and in the Knowledge Base.
Business language and type
Business Language sets the language your assistant uses for the automatic Knowledge Base answers described below, and for other generated text such as lead summaries. It defaults to Not declared; a new business may already show a value here, filled in once at signup from your detected location, or from the language of the signup page itself when that location isn't available — you can change it or clear it back to Not declared at any time. Declaring English or Spanish changes the Knowledge Base answers the next time they regenerate — the next save that changes one of the fields listed under Automatic Knowledge Base answers, not simply your next save. Other generated text, such as lead summaries, picks up the change the next time it is generated instead. Declaring any other language leaves the Knowledge Base answers in your dashboard's own interface language, exactly as if nothing were declared. This field is separate from your interface language, which you set under your personal Account settings. It can also affect the language your assistant replies in, but only when a customer's message gives no language clue of its own — the customer's own words always take priority.
Business Type lets you switch from Standard to Real Estate. Switching is only available to accounts enrolled in that rollout — most accounts see a permission error if they try. Once enabled for your account, Real Estate turns off the order and checkout flow, adds property-specific fields (bedrooms, bathrooms, area, and similar) to your listings, adds a bookable "Listing Consultation" service, and tells your assistant to behave like a real-estate listing business rather than a general product or service one.
Address
Select the country first. The form then asks for the address fields that apply to that country:
- Address 1, city, postal code, and country are required.
- Address 2 is optional.
- State or province is required when the selected country has subdivisions.
If Online only business appears for your account, turn it on only when you do not have a physical storefront. The physical-address fields are then hidden and are not required.
Currency and time zone
Choose the business's primary Currency and Time Zone. Both are required. Use the time zone where the business operates: it gives schedules and other time-based features the correct local context.
Business hours
Under Business Schedule, turn on each day you are open and choose its opening and closing times. You can add a second interval to a day for split hours, and copy one day's setup to every day before adjusting exceptions.
Keep at least one open day with a valid opening and closing time. An opening time must be earlier than its matching closing time. These are your regular business hours; an individual service can use these hours or its own schedule.
Automatic Knowledge Base answers
Saving a change to your business name, email, address, phone number, website, or the Online only business toggle also writes or rewrites up to three answers in your Knowledge Base: your address, your hours, and how to reach you. These are the answers your assistant draws on when a customer asks for them. If you clear every contact field at once, the contact answer is removed instead of rewritten.
If you edit the wording of one of these answers directly in the Knowledge Base, that edit does not stick: the next time you save a change to one of the fields listed above, ReadyChatAI regenerates the answer and overwrites what you typed.
The hours answer refreshes only as part of that same regeneration. Changing only your Business Schedule and saving does not refresh it; it stays as-is until you also save a change to one of the other fields listed above.
Business email and notifications
The page shows whether the current business email is verified. Saving a business email you just entered or changed sends a verification message to that new address; saving other changes without touching the email field does not send anything, even while the address is still unverified.
If the address is unverified, a Resend verification link appears next to it. Clicking it starts a 5-minute cooldown before you can click it again; the cooldown is remembered in this browser, so it survives a refresh but not a different browser or device.
Once that address is verified, the Email me when there are unanswered questions option becomes available. Turn it on if you want an email when a customer asks something the assistant cannot answer. Those questions also remain available under Knowledge Base > Unanswered.
Before you leave
- Review the business email, currency, and time zone carefully.
- Check every enabled day's hours, including any second interval.
- Press Update and wait for the success message.
- Test customer-facing changes in the Playground.
