Playground
Using the Playground: Test Your AI Bot
The Playground is your dedicated sandbox environment within ReadyChatAI. It allows you to interact with your AI bot just like a customer would, testing its knowledge, responses, and overall conversational flow before it interacts with real users on your live channels.

Why Use the Playground?
The Playground is an invaluable tool for several reasons:
- Safe Testing Environment: Experiment freely without affecting your live customer interactions or consuming your main channel message quotas.
- Instant Feedback: See how your bot responds to various questions and prompts in real-time.
- Identify Knowledge Gaps: Quickly discover if your bot is missing information or misunderstanding certain queries.
- Refine Conversational Flow: Test how natural and effective the conversation feels.
- Verify Data Source Integration: Ensure the information you've added in the Data Sources section is being utilized correctly by the bot.
Navigating the Playground Interface
The Playground interface is designed to simulate a typical chat experience:
1. Chat Window
The main area on the left resembles a standard chat application:
- Bot Identity: Clearly labeled as "ReadyChatAI" (or your customized bot name if applicable), often with an avatar.
- Initial Greeting: Your bot will typically start with a welcome message, like "Hi there! How may I help you?".
- Conversation History: As you interact, the conversation (your messages and the bot's replies) will appear here. For example, if you ask "Where are you located?", the bot will reply with its configured business location.
- Input Field: At the bottom, a field labeled "Type a reply..." is where you enter your questions or messages to the bot.
- Send Button: To submit your message.

2. Testing Area & Suggestions
On the right side of the Playground, you'll find tools and prompts to guide your testing:
-
"Test ReadyChatAI with your knowledge" Prompt: Encourages you to start interacting.
-
Guidance Text: Explains that you can type a question or try the provided examples. It also helpfully notes that "questions do not count toward the conversation limit" in the Playground.
-
Example Questions: A set of pre-defined common questions you can click to quickly test, such as:
- "Where are you located?"
- "What are your business hours?"
- "Show me your products"
- "I want to make an order"
Clicking one of these examples will automatically send it as a message to your bot.
3. Reset Button
Located in the top-right corner of the testing area, the "Reset" button allows you to clear the current conversation in the chat window and start a fresh interaction with your bot. This is useful if you want to test different conversational paths without the context of previous messages.
4. Enhancement Tip
At the bottom of the testing area, a helpful tip reminds you: ℹ️ "To enhance ReadyChatAI's response quality and efficiency, keep adding more knowledge!" with a direct link to "Add more knowledge". This encourages continuous improvement of your bot by linking back to the Data Sources section.
How to Effectively Use the Playground
- Start with Basics: Use the example questions to see how your bot handles fundamental queries.
- Test Your FAQs: Ask questions you've added to your Data Sources.
- Try Variations: Ask the same question in different ways to test the bot's understanding of nuances. For example, instead of "What are your business hours?", try "When are you open?" or "What time do you close?".
- Test Edge Cases: Ask slightly more complex or unusual questions relevant to your business.
- Check for Tone: Ensure the bot's responses align with your desired brand voice.
- Identify Unanswered Questions: If the bot can't answer something, make a note and update your Data Sources. The Playground is a great place to find these gaps before your customers do.
- Iterate: Add knowledge in Data Sources, then come back to the Playground to test the changes immediately.
✅ Continuous Improvement Loop: The Playground and Data Sources sections work hand-in-hand. Test in the Playground, identify areas for improvement, update your Data Sources, and then re-test in the Playground. This iterative process is key to building a highly effective AI bot.
